Four kids sitting at a huge kitchen bench in country Victoria were learning how to make special treats from homemade recipes under the loving guidance of their mum.
They were being taught secrets handed down about the use of real ingredients within timeless recipes. They were learning how to feel and smell and taste traditional ingredients and the joy of their hard work wafting through the air in their own kitchen.
They learned to make traditional home cooked meals, desserts, cakes and sweet biscuits all from scratch using the finest ingredients mum could supply.
These skills were to supply countless school fetes and parties with lovingly produced goods famous throughout their district and beyond. Immediate and extended family would all look forward to Christmas time for Kerrie’s gifts of handmade treats.
